Electro Mechnical Clamp on Load Limiters to protect from overload

 

1 - presence of a second safety system, in case the microswitch doesn't work (due to any possible causes); the second safety system is mechanical, that means: infallible. Thanks to it, even if the microswitch gets broken, when there is overload, the load cannot be lifted up from the ground, so the safety of the operator is always guaranteed and total. That is exclusive of Danfos load limiters.
2 - the microswitch is not completely fixed, it can rotate on a pin so that it has enough slack to avoid breakage in case it gets a hit for abrupt starting of the crane movement;
3 - the spring has a continued effectiveness over time (while the disc springs of other load limiters can’t guarantee a long-lasting calibration and consequently the limiter needs to be periodically recalibrated);
4 - the structure of the system is closed and sealed with a sheath which makes it water resistant, according to the IP 65 standard;
5 - the case is also DACROMET treated, to be protected from corrosion; 
6 - It is possible a fine calibration, up to +/- 1%;
7 - it can have 2 switches with different calibrations;
8 - components and production are made in Italy; microswitch is OMRON.

ELECTROMECHANICAL LOAD LIMITER:
The DANFOS load limiter is electromechanical and is made in conformity with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. It is fitted to wire rope lifting systems as a safety component. Its purpose is to prevent handling loads that exceed the nominal capacity of the equipment.

OPERATION:
During operation, when the tension on the wire rope of the lifting equipment reaches the value to which the load limiter is calibrated, an electrical signal is triggered. Each model can be provided with the possibility of setting up to 4 trigger thresholds: the 1st giving a light or sound signal, the 2nd interrupting all movement, except for lowering the load, while the 3rd and 4th can be set according to the directions of the customer and used at his discretion.
